Dr. Myles Munroe spent his life pressing one truth into the hearts of believers: you were not created to be a servant of circumstances—you were created to reign. The title of one of his best-known works says it plainly: You Are a King. But what does it actually mean to walk in kingdom authority, and how do we reclaim it?

The Original Mandate

It begins in Genesis 1:26-28, where God says, "Let Us make man in Our image and let them have dominion." Dr. Munroe taught that dominion was never optional—it was humanity's original assignment. God created us as governors of the earth, designed to rule, manage, and steward creation under His authority. We were made to be kings over a territory, not tenants hoping to survive it.

What Was Lost and What Was Restored

When Adam fell, Munroe explained, he did not lose a religion; he lost dominion. Humanity surrendered the very authority God had given. This is why the message of Jesus was the Kingdom: He came to restore what Adam lost. Through Christ, your kingdom authority is given back. You are reinstated as a son or daughter of the King, with the right and responsibility to represent heaven's government on earth.

Authority Is Not Arrogance

Walking in kingdom authority is not pride—it is alignment. A king under a greater King carries delegated power. Munroe often reminded believers that true authority flows from relationship and purpose, not performance. You don't strive to earn your position; you discover it, accept it, and live from it.

Three Marks of a King

Identity — You know who you are. Your worth isn't decided by your circumstances but by your Creator's design.

Responsibility — Kings govern. You take ownership of your sphere—your home, work, community—and bring order, dignity, and hope.

Influence — A king's presence changes the territory. You carry heaven's culture wherever you go.

Living It Out

Kingdom authority is meant to be practical. It looks like restoring dignity to someone in need, providing stability to a struggling family, and stewarding resources for God's purposes. At Kingdom Dominion Reigns, this is exactly what we pursue—meeting real needs while advancing God's government on the earth.

You are a king. Step into the authority you were created to carry.
